Birds
Like many other people, Jeremy and I started bird watching during the pandemic. We bought binoculars, a bird feeder, an inflatable kayak, trail maps - finally got to know our own backyard better - and fell in love with our home base of Pennsylvania. Now that we’re back to traveling, we love getting to know the birds wherever we go. Going through some of my older photographs, it was fun to rediscover some birds that had caught my eye, and look them up. Birds are also a fantastic challenge to photograph - catching them in flight and in focus is not easy.
Spectacular snow geese migration at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, Pennsylvania. The count the day we were there in March was 75,000 Snow Geese, 2,300 Tundra Swans, and 1,650 Canada Geese.
