| I'm loving learning from Lara Heimann at her Breath & Bandhas 500hr Module this weekend! Always be a student Learn, play, and keep exploring And add balloons! They're fun and they help! I tend to have an anterior pelvic tilt and am working on my pike. This was so helpful! More detail from Lara: "If you have an anterior tilted pelvis due to restricted iliopsoas, then your lower abdominal wall is probably less functionally engaged than it needs to be, especially in more challenging transitions. How do you train the abdominals and retrain the iliopsoas and diaphragm to help you move through space? Get a balloon and find a wall. Working the abdominal corset to activate on the exhale, the pelvis remains more neutral and is therefore “easier“ to move in the air. Try a pike with or without a balloon and lightly tap the sacrum to the wall to FEEL the shape of the pike. Just a little fun from our first day of a weekend intensive. 🎈🙃🙃 Happy piking!!" |
