![]() Jeremy and I will be teaching one more Level 1-2 class TONIGHT at Lila Yoga 5:30pm before we head to Costa Rica! Hope you can join us! We're very excited to deepen our knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics studying with Lara Heimann in Costa Rica for several weeks, and look forward to sharing what we learn when we return. It's going to be a great adventure with dear friends full of yoga, sun, surf, and hiking--we're flying to Peru to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu after Costa Rica. I'm sure I'll have tons of photos to post when we return! Many thanks in advance to Jess & Joe, Laura, Katy, Brandi, and Greta for covering our classes at Lila Yoga while we're away on this odyssey!

On the contrary, air is pushed into the body by the atmospheric pressure (14.7 pounds per square inch, or 1.03kg/cm2) that always surrounds you. This means that the actual force that gets air into the lungs is outside of the body. The energy expended in breathing produces a shape change that lowers the pressure in the chest cavity and permits the air to be pushed into the body by the weight of the planet's atmosphere. In other words, you create the space, and the universe fills it." -- from Yoga Anatomy by Kaminoff & Matthews (pg 6) |
